Keep The Inside Of Your Tent Clean

Posted on September 13, 2010 at 11:12 am

Every camper wants there camping cheap tent to last as long as possible and one key to making this happen is to keep the inside as clean as possible. Family tents are especially hard to keep clean with so many people using them as shelter on a trip. To start nobody should wear shoes inside the tent and of course all food should be kept outside as well. There are also specialty camping supplies available to help keep the inside of the tent clean. With a small whisk broom sweeping out dirt, leaves, and other debris is a breeze.

You Can Still Use A Tent With Your RV

Posted on September 13, 2010 at 11:11 am

While camping in a RV is a comfortable way to go many feel that this really takes away from the camping experience since you are not sleeping under the stars. But just because you are in a RV does not mean you cannot setup tents at your  campsite to sleep in each evening. When outfitting your RV at the camping store go ahead and get a tent or two to stow inside to bring along. On those nice evenings when the weather is perfect set it up and enjoy the stars.

How do you learn to use hiking poles effectively?

Posted on June 28, 2010 at 12:43 pm

I am hiking again after a 30 year hiatus and I have a set of hiking poles I want to use well when I mountain climb. Any suggestions for getting up to speed? Also, suggestions about when and when not to use them? I want to save my knees. Also I’d appreciate suggestions about good web sites to visit or training programs. Thanks!

Do you have any fun camping, hiking and travel recipes for Summer snacks?

Posted on June 26, 2010 at 12:21 pm

My family is planning a lot of camping, hiking and local travel to recreation areas this Summer. I am wanting to put together a list of ideas and recipes for some easy fun trail mixes, camping, hiking and travel food that my children can help me prepare.. Snacks and foods that carry easy with little to no mess or a lot of clean up, store easy and won’t melt or go bad  fast in the Summer heat… Kid friendly snacks would be great! Thank you  in advance.. Have a great Summer!

What hiking trails are really open during winter times in Seattle area?

Posted on June 24, 2010 at 2:17 pm

Hi!
The Mountain Loop Hwy is closed, so many of the hiking trails are out of reach. Many people said the Boulder River Trail is great this time of the year but it’s not: I’ve been there twice now and there is too much snow.

Are there any trails in winter (untill May) still open? I don’t mind driving a few hours.

Thanks!

What is the difference between hiking boots and work boots? Will hiking 7 miles in work boots hurt my feet?

Posted on June 20, 2010 at 12:15 pm

I am going on a trip to Canada and will be hiking around 7 miles a day. I have a cheap pair of work boots that are broken in fairly nicely. Will these be sufficient? They seem like they would but, they are steel toe and don’t look anything like a pair of hiking boots. If not where can I find a fairly nice cheap pair of hiking boots?

where to go RV camping this week in South East Texas?

Posted on June 18, 2010 at 3:03 pm

Looking for suggestion from anyone who may have done this before. I am looking to take my family on our first RV camping in the winter.  I have teens and youngsters. Are there any place to RV this week in the Texas: Houston, Austin, San Antonio that have nice scenic and activities like horse back riding or ATV rental?  Hunting would be nice too.
